Obtaining a mobile phone contract with bad credit can be very frustrating. The UK networks require you to pass a credit check, and a bad credit rating can prevent you obtaining a new phone.

Here is how you can obtain a mobile phone with a poor credit rating and still have a good handset and a good mobile tariff.

Your first option is to go the route of pay as you go. These contracts are often more expensive than buying a tariff and you will have to buy a handset to start with unless you already have a good phone.

Pay as you go phones can be expensive to buy in the first place and to add insult to injury they generally charge more for the calls.

Finding a bad credit mobile phone supplier often charge a deposit. This is because you may run up a big bill and not pay. The best company I know is the Utility Warehouse.

The Utility Warehouse will let you have a phone as long as you prove your address and you pay 10 in advance. You can also take some of the other services they take if you want to cover the cost of your bill.

They charge 1.76 to be a part of the club. This also enables you to save money on other products as well. How about a free laptop deal which you can take with their broadband package.

Apart from the minor disadvantages you will get a mobile phone on a good tariff inspite of any bad or poor credit.
